The quarterback from Atlanta Falcons, Kirk Cousins, was absent on Tuesday in the exercise in volunteers organized team activities.
“I didn’t see him today,” said Falcon’s head coach Raheem Morris. “He didn’t appear in the meetings, so I didn’t see him today.”
Cousins, who turns 37 in mid -August, were visible in the training sessions outside of the season in training the team before Tuesday.
According to reports, the falcons are open to trade offers for cousins, which would have to do without his no-trade clause.
While Cousins is hoping for the role of a starter with another team, the falcons are likely to wait until June 1st to exchange the quarterback. If this is the case, the team will be on the hook for a DEAD CAP fee of 12.5 million US dollars.
Atlanta signed cousins for a four-year contract for $ 180 million with $ 100 million before the 2024 season and then selected Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth overall selection in the draft.
The falcons started the season of 6: 3, but a fall of Cousins told the NFL network with a shoulder injury, prompted Morris to hand over the offensive with three games in the regular season to penix. Penix went 1-2.
Penix is the quarterback No. 1 of the team that enters the new season. The Falcons also have quarterbacks Easton Stick and Emory Jones on their squad.
Cousins threw in 14 starts last season for 3,508 yards, 18 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in 14 starts.
