    Craig Kessler appointed new LPGA commissioner

    The Board of Directors of the LPGA elected Craig Kessler on Thursday to the 10th Commissioner of the Organization.

    The 39 -year -old Kessler most recently worked for the PGA of America.

    His term of office begins on July 15, when he replaces Mollie Marcoux Samaan, who resigned in January.

    “It’s not just about leading a sports organization – it’s about defining what is possible,” said Kessler. “For me, this role is deeply personal – not just as a professional opportunity, but as an opportunity to make a difference in the world and create new opportunities for others. Golf changes life. I believe in the mission of the LPGA, its members and its momentum. I can’t wait to get started.”

    Kessler’s appointment is during the 75th anniversary season of the LPGA.

    Before Kessler worked for PGA of America, he was CEO of the Buff City Soap retail company based in Dallas. He is on the board of the National Golf Foundation and the UT Southwestern Hospital Systems.

    Liz Moore continues as an interim commissioner until Kessler’s term of office begins.
