The Texas Rangers have finally broken out of a longer slump in the score and will try to keep this dynamic on Wednesday in the third competition of a four-game series in Arlington, Texas, against athletics.
It will be a battle of top-class starters, since athletics Luis Severino (1-3, 3.49 ERA) will send to the hill and counteracts Texas to the right-handed Nathan Eovaldi (2-2, 2.21).
The Rangers did not defeat their demon on Wednesday and defeated athletics with 15: 2 to even achieve the series in one victory per piece and to make a defeat with three games. Adolis Garcia and Wyatt Langford each had a three-RBI double in the sixth inning, and Kyle Higashioka added a double with three runs in the victory.
The 18-goal attack by the Rangers was listed by three goals from Leody Taveras, Josh Smith and Marcus Semien.
It was the highest goal of the rangers of the season – by far.
“At some point we knew that we would have a big game,” said Semien after the victory on Tuesday. “It was about getting the jugs to come to ourselves and to lift the boys when we had them on the base.”
Evaldi replaced well in his last start, hurled six goalless Innerings, while he only allowed three goals and scored one and spread seven in a 2-0 victory over Justin Belander and San Francisco in his 300th Major League game. Eovaldi excluded seven of the last 13 batteries, including the page in his last inning.
“Your good ones get better when they go and Nate did,” said Texas Manager Bruce Bochy. “Nate made his thing out there. Good mix. Good command. His command has gotten better and better with all his parking spaces.”
Of all Texas Pitchers, Evaldi was the most victim through the anemic offense of the Rangers, since the team only achieved a total of 11 runs in his seven starts in 2024.
“Fortunately, there are always one or two parking spaces that I can go to with a little more command,” said Eovaldi. “Even if I am back, there are always other parking spaces that I can throw in the zone to have the respect of the rackets. This is a large part of it, with all my pitch and show everything.”
Eovaldi took the hill 13 times in his career against athletics and collected a 3-2 record and an ERA of 2.85 in 75 2/3 innings, while 25 runs, 63 goals, 24 walks and 67-performance conditions allow.
Despite his record, Severino was solid and achieved a win in his last two appearances. He allowed three runs with six goals and two walks, while in his last stint he scored seven height of the season in six innings.
“You go out and think that it will be a back and forth game and you just stay up to the plan,” said Severino, who signed the biggest guaranteed Free Agent Treaty in the team history in the off-season. “Our attitude is that we only have to fight. And we have the line -up – we have a tone pitching and a few people who can really hit to stay in this race.”
In seven career appearances against the Rangers (six starts), Severino has a 2-2 record with an ERA of 3.93 in 34 1/3 inning. He has approved 15 runs with 24 goals and 13 walks while he was climbing 29.
