Boston Red Sox’s first Baseman, Triston Casas, was placed on Saturday on the 10-day injury list with a broken left patellar tendon.
Casas left the game on Friday evening against the visiting Minnesota twins on a stretcher after suffering the injury at the end of the second inning.
He defeated a checks -fluctuating tapper that Twins Pitcher Joe Ryan played wrong because of an error. After his left foot stepped hard on the first day, he hit the foot of Minnesota First Baseman Ty France and fell hard on his left knee.
The Red Sox manager Alex Cora called it “a significant knee injury” after Boston won 6-1 against the twins.
Cora said Casas didn’t fully understand what happened when he was worked by coaches.
“It seems like he’s shocked to be honest with you,” said Cora. “He immediately said that he didn’t feel it. It’s hard. He works so hard and we want him in the field. It was also a hectic game, and that happened.”
Casas was replaced by Romy Gonzalez on the first basis.
The 25 -year -old Casas beats three Homern and 11 RBIs in 29 games this season.
Casas also met with misfortune last season when he was limited to 63 games due to a violation of the left chest. He fought with 13 Homern and 32 RBIs .241.
The Red Sox announced several other squad movements on Saturday.
The left -handed pitcher Brennan Bernardino was resumed from the mourning list.
The Red Sox also activated the Abraham Toro Infieldder from Triple-A Worcester and was equipped with the right-handed pitcher Luis Guerrero to Worcester.
