The Falcons Quarterback Kirk Cousins is expected to take part in Atlantas mandatory Minicamp from Tuesday, according to several reports on Monday.
Cousins has expressed the wish to find a starting role elsewhere after he was a backup for Michael Penix Jr. last season last season
However, the falcons hesitated to swap it without achieving a significant return. Atlanta signed cousins for a four-year contract for $ 180 million with $ 100 million before the 2024 season and selected Penix with the eighth total selection in the draft.
The falcons started 6: 3 last season, but a cousins in the fall, told the NFL network with a shoulder injury, prompted Atlanta coach Raheem Morris to hand over the offensive with three games in the regular season to Penix. Penix went 1-2.
Cousins, who turned 37 in mid -August, visited several volunteers organized team activities in Atlanta at the end of May, although he did not practice.
Penix is the quarterback No. 1 of the team that enters the new season. The falcons also have Easton Stick and Emory Jones in their deep card.
Cousins threw for 3,508 yards, 18 touchdowns and a career high of 16 interceptions in 14 starts last season. The four-time per bowl selection was a starter in Washington and Minnesota before he came to Atlanta.
