Only four NBA teams won regular games in one season in one season than the Oklahoma City Thunder.
But this outstanding performance is largely forgotten if the thunder is not part of the NBA final.
Three of the teams who won more games than the Thunder, conquered the NBA title-Die Chicago Bulls 1995-96 (72-10), the Bulls 1996-97 (69-13) and the Los Angeles Lakers from 1971-72 (69-13).
The team that has won most of the games in NBA history, the Golden State Warriors 2015-16 (73-9) -Hat this stain in the main register that the thunder would like to avoid. The Warriors had a 3-1 lead in the NBA final before the Cleveland Cavaliers won the next three games.
This is just Oklahoma City’s second excursion to the playoffs with its current talented core, so that it may not win everything this season.
This is because the Cleveland Cavaliers or Boston Celtics have something to say. These are the only teams of the Eastern Conference with a real opportunity to reach the final.
The thunder is the main favorites in the western conference, with only the Minnesota Timberwolves have a real recording to derail them.
The MVP finalist Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his teammates have checked the conference throughout the season.
Oklahoma City ended 16 games in front of the second -placed Houston Rockets, who, despite her great young talent and her first -class trainer Ime Udoka, are probably still a season away.
The thunder swept the Memphis Grizzlies in four games in the first round, starting with a strong 51-point victory at the start.
Oklahoma City ended the Sweep on Saturday and is triggered for a matchup in the second round against the Denver Nuggets or the Los Angeles Clippers. The Nuggets run the series 3-2 in the street on Thursday.
Could either the nuggets or clipper give the thunder in the next round?
This Denver team is not what it won two seasons ago. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray should have a lot of big games.
With regard to the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard was in the “Playoff Kawhi” mode, but James Harden disappeared in the last two games. Los Angeles does not beat Oklahoma City if it needs additional production of bank players – let’s say that.
The Rockets and Warriors are connected in three games in their series. The fact that a Golden State team with Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green needs a game 7 to get past Houston is that the group would not be a serious threat to Oklahoma City in the conference final.
Minnesota ended the season strongly and then sent the Los Angeles Lakers in five games. The Timberwolves will either compete in the second round either the rockets or the warrior.
Gilgeous-Alexander led the NBA with an average of 32.7 points while led Oklahoma City. He improved his outer shots of 163 3 hands far above his previous high of 95.
He is also one of the best drivers in the league and has done 601 free throws – the NBA in this category in the third season in a row.
What he did not do is to lead a team deep into the post -season. Last season Oklahoma City lost in six games in the second round against the Dallas Mavericks. Luka Doncic then carried Dallas to the NBA final.
But SGA has the opportunity this season. The Thunder took fourth place in the rating of 120.5 points per game and third in defense, which allowed 107.6 per game.
With Jalen Williams (21.6 ppg, 124 3S) is an outstanding all-round player, while Chet Holmgren (15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.2 blocks) and Isaiah Hartenstein (11.2 ppg, 10.7 RPG) are in the middle.
Luguentz there (10.1 ppg, 170 3S) and backups Isaiah Joe (10.2, 192 3S) and Aaron Wiggins (12.0, 130 3S) are all large exterior shooters. Cason Wallace (8.4 ppg) and Alex Caruso (7.1) are also solid members of the nine player rotation of Thunder.
Oklahoma City has star power and depth. Now it is time for the thunder to occur regularly in the conference final.
There is no team in the West that can beat the thunder four times in a series.
